Little Lever School is an 11 to 16 mixed comprehensive specialist language college situated in a modern and well maintained building. Children are admitted without reference to ability and aptitude, and it has no affiliation to any religious denomination.
Little Lever School is situated four miles from the centre of Bolton and close to the boundary of Bury Metropolitan Borough. It is increasing in popularity and draws its children from more than thirty primary schools over a wide area which includes both Bolton and Bury. This increase in popularity is due mainly to its recognition locally and nationally as an improving school. The attainment for a large number of pupils entering the school is below the national average yet the school has, over the past five years, shown an improvement in the performance at GCSE and is now above the national average for pupils gaining five A - C.
The school is a Language college with strong emphasis on international links and cultural diversity, and the use of information communication technology to support and enhance learning.
