Thirty-nine students and four staff set off to London on Tuesday 17th July to take in two West-End shows over the course of two days. On arrival, the students set out on a sightseeing tour taking in Buckingham Palace, Horseguards’ Parade, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square and Green Park.

The students then had their evening meal at Sticky Fingers and then watched a performance of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

After a night at a hotel,  students were taken on a fascinating tour of the Globe Theatre on London’s Southbank. Students learnt not only about the how Shakespeare’s plays were performed in his lifetime but were also taught about the wider life style of the people of London in the 1500s. They were also treated to an exclusive rehearsal of Shakespeare’s Othello with Hollywood actor Mark Rylance on stage (you can just spot him in the red cap!).

The tour finished off with a performance of Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre before heading home.

All students have behaved impeccably and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
