Students can chose to start at the top of the learning map and work their way chronologically down the list which will help with memory retention or go to an area directed by their teacher.

Topic: An Inspector Calls and Exploring Reading
- Pupils will study the play An Inspector Calls in preparation for their GCSE examination. Pupils will acquire a sound knowledge of the plot, characters and the themes presented throughout the play. Pupils will also develop an awareness of the play’s context and learn how to effectively analyse its implications on the text.

Topic: World News and Writing with a Viewpoint/SLE
- Pupils will engage with a range of non-fiction texts addressing topics which will challenge their thinking, understanding and appreciation of the world in which they live. Pupils will achieve this whilst studying the skills required for Section A of the language paper 2 exam.

- Pupils will study a selection of poems from the Power and Conflict anthology. Pupils will become familiar with their content, context and overall impact on their audience through the analysis of both language and structure.
