  • Pupils will study the text Of Mice and Men to develop their ability to understand characterisation and themes within a novel. Pupils will develop their inference and deduction skills whilst engaging with the literary devices used to create atmosphere and setting. Pupils will be expected to demonstrate their understanding of context and its impact when analysing a whole text.

  • Pupils will study an abridged version of the play Blood Brothers to develop their understanding of script writing, stage directions and character creation. Pupils will analyse the language and themes found across the play whilst having the opportunity to take on roles.  Whilst studying the play pupils will have the opportunity to discuss relationships, families and social divides.
