Proposed Changes to Admissions Criteria at Little Lever School

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to inform you of proposed changes to the admissions criteria for Little Lever School which will apply from September 2027. As always, we are committed to openness and transparency regarding how school places are allocated, and we welcome your feedback on these proposed changes.

Proposed Change

To further strengthen our school community, we propose to include children of current staff employed by Little Lever School to the 3rd priority group within our admissions criteria. This change will:

  • Support recruitment and retention of high-quality staff, which is essential for delivering excellent education to our pupils.
  • Provide increased stability and continuity for the school, benefiting all pupils.
  • Align with the freedoms available to academies under the School Admissions Code (2021), which permits this criterion where it is “to recruit and retain staff”.
