Little Lever Musicians Wow in PiXL Auditions - Semi-Finals

Every year PiXl (an educational organisation with over 1000 schools across the UK as members) have a huge rewards ceremony in October at Westminster Hall, London for which many students are nominated for awards by their school. If they are successful, they go to London to collect their award at this ceremony. To break up the award ceremony PiXL like to put on ten Performing Arts acts, usually in the field of music and dance. Three ...weeks ago Mr Poole nominated around fifteen groups/individuals from school to be put forward for the audition process and we received news last week that five of our students had been put through to the semi finals.

On 5th July Mr Poole had the pleasure of taking those five music students to York University for the semi finals of the audition process. Most of these students have never performed outside of school let alone on a big stage in front of judges.

They were ALL outstanding in their performances and really gave it their all. Each student was not only a credit to the school, in the way the conducted themselves throughout the whole trip, but a credit to themselves and their parents. Each performance gave Mr Poole goosebumps and they all took the feedback from the judges very well. The judges were very positive with their comments and one judge even said 'You guys are making our decision very, very difficult'!

We will hopefully hear by Wednesday of next week whether anyone gets through to the final, they are looking for ten acts out of over one-hundred semi finalists, so it's a tough route to the final performance.

The students who performed were,

Joel Wolstencroft (Drums) Emily Harrison (Tenor Horn) Aaliyah Pilling (Vocal) Drew Gudojc (Vocal) Csenge Kosaras (Flute)

Videos of their audition performances will be posted in subsequent posts.
