On Wednesday 9th May, fifty-four students represented the school in the English Schools' Athletic event held at Longford Park, Stretford. The school competed against Altrincham Grammar School, Bolton School, Manchester Grammar School, Oldham Hulme Grammar School, Kingsway School and St Matthews RC High School.

Every single student performed to the best of their ability and were a credit to the school.

The school is proud to report of some exceptional results from some of our boy athletes: Callum Evans won the 200m race, Keagan Barlow won both the High Jump contest and 100m sprint (in a time of 11.8 seconds!) and Sam Tonge won the 800m race.

In addition, Louie Johnson came 1st in the 1500m (4.32), Alex Birmingham came 1st in the Shot Putt 11.15m and Luke Greenhalgh 1st Discus 30.13 (broke the school record).

Overall, the Inter boys came 2nd and the Junior boys came 4th.

Both boys teams should qualify for the North West Finals in June.
