On Wednesday 6th March the Music department took 30 students to watch the Halle Orchestra at the Bridgewater Hall in one of their Halle for Youth projects. This year’s theme was ‘Conlict and Resolution’ with the inspiration behind the event being the Peterloo massacre which happened 200 years ago.
The students were treated to a wide variety of music spanning all of the musical periods and learnt valuable information about the different sections and instruments of the orchestra. Music spanned from Elgar through to John Williams and Star Wars. The students’ attitudes were fantastic and all were a credit to themselves and the school.
