Year 11 Easter Holiday Must-Do Tasks: FRENCH

Over the Easter holiday period, all Year 11 students are expected to complete the 'must-do' work tasks set by each subject area. Students must bring back to school their completed work on the first week back after the holidays for their teachers to assess. Invites to the Prom will depend on students completing these tasks. The work is designed to support coursework completion and exam preparation.

To keep up your revision and improve your chances of getting your target grade, you must work on the following.

1. Spend 30 minutes on Vocab Express on different sections 3 times per week. Record the vocabulary in your vocabulary book. (6 exercises in total). This must be dated and given in on Monday 24th April.

2. Complete the Practice Exam Paper: Reading. Page 105 in your GCSE French Revision Workbook. (9 Questions in total). The correct language in the text must be highlighted (i.e. where your answer has come from) and the book must be given in on Monday 24th April.

Extra work:

1. Complete the Practice Exam paper: Listening. Page 111 in your GCSE French Revision Workbook. (11 Questions in total)

2. Complete more exercises on Vocab Express and record and date the vocabulary.

3. Try GCSE Bitesize French revision.

4. Watch a French film with English subtitles. Try ‘Les Intouchables’, Le Choriste, Être et Avoir, Atila Marcel, Les Visiteurs, Kirikou el la Sorcière, La marche de L’empereur’.

5. Read the news online (Le Monde) and use a dictionary/ translator to help you understand it.

6. Log on to and listen to a song in French filling in the gaps as you go along.
