We are delighted to share the news that the school rock band ‘Banned!’ were last night crowned Battle of the Bands champions.
This was a local heat for pupils aged 11-18 in schools in Bolton and Blackburn with Darwin and was held at the Roundhouse in Bolton. There were 8 bands in total and every single band put on a fantastic performance that made the final decision very difficult for the judge. After all bands had performed the judge gave positive feedback and points to work on for each band, after this the judge announced ‘Banned’ as winners of this round. The band will now go and perform at the GM music hub showcase at the Manchester Academy on the 12th of March (details of how to obtain tickets will be released shortly).
Mr Poole (Faculty Leader of the Arts) commented,
“All of us at Little Lever School are immensely proud of the band and can’t wait to support them at Manchester Academy in March. This is a fine reward for the many hours of practise that they have put in, the band come back every night after school to rehearse in the practise rooms and that showed with a fantastic performance on stage. I’d like to thank Bolton Music Service for running such a brilliant event, and all the parents for their support enabling the band to get this far.”
