Changes to Enrichment and Times of the Day

Dear parents / carers

I wanted to remind you that our Enrichment offer will pause after February half term in line with the curriculum plans for this year.  Enrichment will restart for students in Y7, 8, 9 and 10 from Thursday 20th June.

The last date for Enrichment this half term is Thursday 8th February.

Please see our Enrichment webpage on our website for more details on this:

Enrichment – Little Lever School (little-lever.bolton.sch.uk)

What will happen after February half term?

Students in Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 will no longer need to attend their enrichment session on Thursdays.

This means that the school day for students in Y7, 8, 9 and 10 will finish at 2.35pm every Thursday until Thursday 20th June.

The finish times for every other day will remain the same.  For students in Y7, 8, 9 and 10 the finish times for the week are detailed in the table below:

Mondays   Tuesdays   Wednesdays   Thursdays   Fridays
3pm  3pm  3pm  2.35pm  2.35pm

As part of our curriculum plans for the year we will be introducing an extended day for Year 11 students after February half term to support them in the build up to their GCSE exams.

I wanted to reassure parents in Y7, 8, 9 and 10 that your child will still have access to the same curriculum time.  In order to provide an extended school day for Y11 we have simply removed the afternoon form time from 2.35pm – 3pm until 20th June.

When Enrichment commences again from Thursday June 20th students in Y7, 8, 9 and 10 will be required to stay until 3.30pm to enjoy their enrichment activities.

Will the school bus be running on Thursdays from 2.35pm?

Yes. The bus company have confirmed with the school that they will move forward the Thursday bus time arrival from 2.35pm.

Can I also take this opportunity to thank parents and carers for your support.  Your children are working hard each and every day and demonstrating our values of being kind and taking responsibility!  We are very proud of them.  Enrichment gives your children the ‘extra’ opportunities we want to provide to ensure they can experience as many different activities as possible.  It teaches your children new skills and unlocks hidden talents as well as nurturing the essential skills we all need to succeed in new and different social experiences.  Whilst we are sad to have to pause Enrichment we are looking forward to re-starting Enrichment again from Thursday 20th June.

Thank you once again.

Kind regards,

Mr Mckeon
