Year 10 / ks4

Religious Education is studied in order to develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding of religion, religious beliefs, practices, language and traditions and their influence on individuals, communities, societies and cultures. It enables pupils to consider and respond to a range of important questions related to their own spiritual development, the development of values and attitudes and fundamental questions concerning the meaning and purpose of life. It is a subject that is particularly important when living in a multi-cultural society as it informs pupils of the backgrounds and experiences of others and prepares them for the wider world of work where they will meet and need to interact with people from different cultures and religions.
