High School Vaccinations: Information to Parents/Carers

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust has a dedicated School Aged Immunisation Team made up of highly skilled staff who are experienced in offering vaccinations to all high school aged children in Bolton.

It is almost the end of the Academic 2022-2023 School Year and the team are nearing completion for the 2nd Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination for pupils in Year 8.

Some things to consider before your child returns to school in September:

  • Has your child received two doses of the MMR Vaccination? To get the best protection, it is important that young people receive two injections, one month apart .
  • If you think your child is incomplete with these vaccinations and is in Year 8 and Year 10, please contact the Immunisation Team to discuss further. If your child is in Years 7, 9 and 11, please contact your GP Practice.
  • Consent packs have already started to go out in some schools for the Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio and Meningitis ACWY Vaccinations in Year 10. If you have received a pack recently, please can you return to school in the envelope provided before the end of term. Remaining consent packs will be sent out in September.
