From September 2020 we have a statutory requirement to deliver Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) to all our students. The reason for this is to provide young people with the information they need to
- develop healthy, nurturing relationships
- keep them safe and
- respect others.
We want to ensure all stakeholders have the opportunity to be involved in the consultation process of the RSE policy before it is finalised. The content of the curriculum has been set by the government and it is our responsibility to decide when and how to teach the content so that it is age appropriate.
To date, we have consulted with:
- The trustees of the school
- The students – a summary of their feedback is below. All students from Year 7 to Year 11 were able to participate in the survey.
- The staff
- Religious Leaders
- The parent forum
Due to the national situation with regard to Covid 19, parent consultation will be via the website. If you have any points to make after reading the policy please email:
info@little-lever.bolton.sch.uk with the subject title of RSE policy.
The deadline for the consultation process is 17th June at 5pm. The draft policy can be read in full in the tabs below.
Yours faithfully
R Naylor
