Approximately 770 students have let us know they would like to watch the England v Iran football match on Monday 21st November at 1pm.
We are going to allow students to watch the football match as it is in the national interest, and we feel it is the right thing to do to work with students to continue to build the positive, family-based culture we have created at the school.
It is important, however that we recognize those students and staff who may not wish to watch the football for whatever reason. It is important that we respect people’s views, and we will not force students or staff to watch the football match if they do not wish to.
The plan below will ensure that every student who does not wish to watch the football will still have full access to the full curriculum for the day.
The day will be as close to a ‘normal day’ as possible in order to maximise learning time for all students. Those students that want to watch the football will have a modified school day as set out in the plans below.
- The day will start as normal
- Students who wish to watch the football match will be given a World Cup ticket during registration.
- The World Cup Ticket will tell students where they will be watching the match later in the day at 1pm. Students must keep their ticket safe.
- The match will be shown across 5 rooms.
Year groups have been allocated rooms to watch the match.
- Conference Room: approx 145 Year 11 students and approx 100 Year 7 students
- PA1: approx 164 Year 8 students
- Sports Hall: approx 140 Year 9 students and approx 166 Year 10 students
- Library: 87 Year 7 students
- The HUB: Identified list of SEND students.
